Case Study: Consumer products manufacturer

Synopsis:

A prominent consumer products manufacturer based in the central United States with more than $2 billion USD in revenue established a long-term contract with Industrial Motion, Inc. to supply over 16 of their international manufacturing facilities with their industrial requirements.

Business Need:

The company was experiencing increasing challenges supporting their international manufacturing facilities (IMF's) efficiently and cost-effectively. When the company started manufacturing outside the US, they established an internal division to support all of their IMF's with everything from raw materials to spare parts. For decades, this corporate division serviced these facilities. However, they were never able to establish a level of performance that was satisfactory to the efficient maintenance and operation of the IMF's.

Solution:

The client’s vision was to find a company that specialized in international supply and logistics for industrial equipment and materials. They did not have to look far. Industrial Motion had already gained entry to several of their manufacturing facilities directly, and was already a support supplier for many years. After an extremely rigorous analysis and evaluation of our capabilities and performance history, they signed a long-term contract with us, designating Industrial Motion, Inc. as the sole MRO supplier to their international facilities.

Result:

The client ultimately shut down their international purchasing division and contracted with Industrial Motion to take over this operation completely. Currently, Industrial Motion supplies this CPM with many millions of dollars in raw materials and industrial components annually.
