A leading optical device manufacturer with a significant manufacturing presence outside of the continental US was in the middle of a large-scale expansion by starting two manufacturing operations in Asia.
Aside from managing the establishment of their product manufacturing lines, the client was focused on the design, build and implementation of the internal laboratories that were vital to their validation processes. Without the lab, they would not have the ability to test and validate the devices coming off of the production line. With the inability to perform these analyses production would not be able to begin-bringing their $100 million USD, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to a halt.
Industrial Motion engineers were already engaged with the client's manufacturing facilities. We immediately sent in a team to evaluate their current situation, gain an understanding of the scope and timeline of the project and, ultimately, establish a blueprint to build and stock the laboratories with all necessary equipment from autoclaves to test tubes.
The scale of the project was expansive as well as intricate. There were very specific and aggressive timelines to be met. Additionally, the logistic's demands of the customer for the shipment and importation of the equipment were explicit and varied based on the type of product. Industrial Motion’s logistics department incorporated all of the customer’s shipping instructions, using multiple freight carriers based on need, to ensure that all of the equipment arrived at the labs as scheduled.
As a result, both manufacturing facilities achieved their production
commencement deadlines.
